Nestled in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula, Kenai Central Campground is one of the newest campgrounds in the area, offering unbeatable access to Alaska’s top fishing and outdoor adventures. Just minutes from the world-class fishing and dipnetting sites on the legendary Kenai River, this campground puts you right in the middle of the action during the famous salmon runs. Whether you're harvesting reds during the busy dipnetting season or casting for silvers and rainbows, Kenai Campground is the ideal basecamp.
History
Kenai central campground was the work-of-heart of the Gaze family. Casey and liana spent years planning, building and working together to create a relaxing and fun retreat for all guests. they were so thoughtful in the design of the property. from the spacious layout of the sites to the comfort of the host house/office. they wanted to make sure the host house would be a cozy, heat-efficent, and sturdy place for our hosts year-round.
The gazes have passed the baton to us (The simpsons) and we are eager to continue on their legacy with the same intent.
The sites
we have 50 gravel rv sites on the property. Each standard site measures a generous 25' x 75', providing ample room for multiple vehicles, tents, RVs, or a combination of setups.
Our buddy sites are a generous 40’ X 100’ feet.
Each site offers a fire ring and picnic table.
Bathroom facilities
being a new campground, we do not yet have permanent bathroom facilities. at this time, we offer porta-potties with hand-washing stations.
Extras
for guest convenience, we offer 10 lb bags of ice for $5 and over-sized bundles of firewood for $8 at the office. these can be purchased in advance from the website, or purchased in person at the office during office hours. for after-hours purchases, there is a cash drop box.
